Asia’s first desert-themed zoo to be developed near Deesa: Gujarat minister

Gandhinagar: State forest and environment minister Mulu Bera informed the state assembly on Thursday that a desert-themed zoo is set to be developed near Deesa in Banaskantha district. The proposed facility will primarily house animals adapted to arid climatic conditions. Gir: The Union government issued a preliminary notification last month to declare a total area of 184,466.20 hectares around the Gir Protected Area as an Eco-Sensitive Zone.
