Ahmedabad: With the rise in summer heat, the power demand in the state is also increasing, nearing 24,000 MWs. According to the State Load Despatch Centre, Gujarat’s peak power demand on April 20, 2024, stood at 23,916MW, coinciding with a summer high of 491 million units in electricity consumption.
With the peak months of summer still ahead, experts believe that this year, the power demand will surpass the previous record of 24,540 MW set in September 2023
