Udaipur: The local police on Saturday night busted an illegal rave and mujra party at Hotel Ganesh in Kodiyat, detaining 51 people, including 40 men and 11 women. The hotel owner and a middleman were also taken into custody. Police seized a large quantity of suspected drugs from the spot.
According to officials, most of those arrested had traveled from Gujarat specifically to attend the party. Due to the high number of detainees, police had to arrange a bus to transport them to the police station.
Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said the raid followed a tip-off about Vishwajit Solanki, who was allegedly organising the event at Hotel Ganesh. Solanki reportedly brought women to perform mujra dances and engage in other immoral activities. To verify the information, Head Constable Arjun Singh, Constable Prakash, and Constable Ajayraj were sent undercover. Their investigation confirmed that buses full of partygoers had arrived from Gujarat, and local guests were also expected. Entry to the party reportedly cost ₹5,000.
One officer, posing as a customer, witnessed the mujra performance, where women danced as money was thrown at them. After this confirmation, police raided the venue at around 11:30 PM on August 2. The operation, led by DSP Suryaveer Singh Rathore, continued into Sunday afternoon. Rathore remained at the scene throughout the night.
During the raid, several young men and women tried to hide on the hotel’s roof but were later detained. Police also found luxury cars parked outside the venue. Some of the women had reportedly been brought in from other states to participate in the party.
The police are now interrogating all those detained to gather more information about the organisers and the network behind the party. The incident took place in Udaipur’s Nai police station area, known for its many hotels and resorts that attract domestic and international tourists. DeshGujarat
