Extremely Heavy Rainfall in Parts of North Gujarat ; 24 Hours Data from Across Gujarat

Gandhinagar: It’s a major spell of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall underway in parts of Gujarat since Saturday midnight. Vadgam in Banaskantha district has received 7.52 inch rainfall in 24 hours period ending Sunday morning and further rainfall after that which place it in extremely heavy rain bracket. Modasa 6.22 inch, Talod 5.31 inch, Sidhpur 6.16 inch follow, which shows the North Gujarat is having extra-ordinary rainfall today. Dehgam 4.80 inch, Kathlal 4.17, Mahesana 3.98, Lunawada 3.90, Prantij 3.66, Kadana 3.58, Deesa 3.58, Dhansura 3.50 are other notable figures of heavy rainfall.
Among the areas that top the chart in this spell are North, Central and Southern Gujarat regions. In all, 181 talukas received rains in this 24 hours period. Among them 72 had above one inch rain, while 38 had above 2 inch rainfall, 20 had above 3 inch rains.Water logging, disruption in traffic, localize flood are being witnessed in parts of Gujarat.
