No RTO visit needed: Gujarat launches faceless learning license system
July 05, 2025
Gandhinagar: In a move aimed at simplifying the process of obtaining learning licenses, the Gujarat government is set to implement a faceless, Aadhaar-based e-KYC system from July 7, 2025. As per an official statement from the Office of the Commissioner of Transport, applicants can now avail of the learning license service completely online without visiting the RTO.
The new system allows eligible applicants to apply for a learning license through a contactless (faceless) process using Aadhaar-based e-KYC authentication. However, those who prefer the traditional route or are unable to use the faceless option can still visit RTO, ARTO, ITI, or Polytechnic offices for document verification and the license test.
Citizens are encouraged to take note of the new facility and make use of the simplified process for a more convenient experience. DeshGujarat
