ACB Gujarat nabs Dy Mamlatdar for taking bribe during decoy trap

Mehsana: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat, in a decoy trap, nabbed one Dharmendrakumar Mehta, Deputy Mamlatdar, Supply (Class-3), posted at the Mamlatdar Office in Kheralu in a bribery case involving a sum of ₹10,000.
As per the ACB, it was revealed that at the Supply Branch of the Mamlatdar Office in Kheralu, ration shop license holders were being harassed under various pretexts and forced to pay monthly bribes ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000. If they refused, unnecessary notices were issued to trouble them. Based on a confirmed tip-off, a decoy operation was planned with the cooperation of a decoy citizen.
During the operation, the accused demanded a bribe of ₹10,000 for two months’ installments and accepted the amount from the decoy. He was caught red-handed during the trap while accepting the bribe, and the further legal proceedings are underway. DeshGujarat
