GPCB seals Bombay Chowpati Icecream Plant in Godhra
March 06, 2024
Godhra: Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) has sealed an ice cream manufacturing plant in Bombay Chowpati Icecream as the samples from the Effluent Treatment Plant system failed the parameters. GPCB had received complaints that an illegal pipeline was used in the plant for the discharge of polluted water. On January 10, a site visit was done by GPCB’s regional officer, during which an illegal pipeline was detected. The pipeline was removed, and ETP plant-processed water samples were collected. As the sample failed, a 15-day notice was issued to correct the ET plant. The unit had conveyed to GPCB that the ETP system was as per parameters. When samples were checked again by GPCB, the report failed again, following which the plant was sealed by GPCB on March 1. DeshGujarat
