Mega Textile Park: GIDC conducts survey of two pieces of land

Surat: Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has conducted a survey of two pieces of lands in Navsari and Surat districts for setting up a mega textile parks, under the incentive scheme of central government.
There is a scope of acquiring 2382.38 acre- government land in Vansi-Borsi village of Navsari and 1417.67-acre government land in Gabheni village of Surat for the mega textile park, as per survey. If this location is chosen, there shall be minimal requirement of acquisition of private land parcels. The decision however will be taken after the meeting of GIDC with the Ministry of Textiles and SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) company for proposed project.
The chamber of commerce had also conducted surveys of lands in Vansi Borsi and Gabheni village. The chamber of commerce had sent the report of the survey to state BJP president CR Patil with a proposal. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had declared about making 7 mega textile parks in the country in the central budget of the financial year 2021-22.
