IMD forecasts return of heavy rainfall in Gujarat from August 16th

Surat: After days of dry weather in the majority of areas, the state is set to witness the return of heavy rains from Independence Day, i.e., August 15th. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), in its national daily weather bulletin, stated that the Gujarat region is expected to experience heavy rainfall in isolated places on August 16th and 17th. Additionally, according to the extended range forecast, heavy rains might continue until August 22nd.

As per the IMD bulletin, “Heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli,” on August 16th.

On August 17th, “Heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.”

This upcoming rainfall activity can be attributed to the upper air cyclonic circulation over Kutch and its neighbourhood, persisting at 3.1 km above mean sea level. DeshGujarat
