₹17 crore Multi-Modal Transport Hub Coming Up in Vadnagar; Gujarat CM Visits Site

Vadnagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today visited Vadnagar, the hometown of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to review the progress of key development projects being undertaken jointly by the state and central governments.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction of the Multi-Modal Transport Hub being built in front of Vadnagar Railway Station. He instructed officials from the Railways and the State Tourism Department to ensure effective coordination and integration of the project so that the work can be completed at the earliest, an official statement said.

Vadnagar, a city of rich historical and archaeological heritage, has been witnessing significant development, and a Multi-Modal Transport Hub and Public Plaza are being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹17 crore. The hub will connect Vadnagar Railway Station to the city’s main tourist attractions and will feature amenities such as parking facilities, rest areas, and a cafeteria. More than 2,000 trees will also be planted within the premises, which the CM personally inspected.

As part of the Swadesh Darshan Scheme’s Heritage Circuit, development works are underway at Sharmistha Lake, Tanariri Park and nearby lakes, Lateri Vav, Ambaji Kotha Lake, the Railway Station, and the Fort Wall area in Vadnagar.

The Chief Minister emphasised the need to maintain high-quality standards during construction and reviewed the pace of work. Tourism Secretary Dr. Rajendra Kumar briefed him on the project’s detailed progress. DeshGujarat
