Indian Railways Flags Off First Industrial Salt Rake from Sanosara to Dahej in Gujarat

Dahej: Indian Railways has dispatched its first industrial salt-loaded rake from Sanosara in the Bhuj–Naliya section to Dahej, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Sunday.
In a post on X, the minister said the new logistics initiative will “open new avenues” for the region’s salt industry and boost freight growth.
According to Ahmedabad Division Railway Manager (DRM), the inaugural rake was loaded on August 9, 2025, with 3,851.2 tonnes of industrial salt at Sanosara Goods Shed. Covering 673.57 km, the consignment is expected to generate ₹31.69 lakh in freight revenue.
