August 09, 2025
Ahmedabad: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah arrived at Ahmedabad Airport late on Friday night, August 8, for a two-day visit to his home state, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan on Saturday and Sunday.
In his first event today, Shah will be in his hometown, Mansa in Gandhinagar district, to attend a private family ceremony marking the khatmuhurat (foundation ritual) for the renovation of his ancestral home.
Shah will also visit the temple of his kuldevi (family deity), Bahuchar Mata, where a havan (ritual fire ceremony) has been organised. Later, accompanied by his family, he will host a Brahm Bhojan (community feast for Brahmins) at the Nagar Samaj community hall.
It is noteworthy that Amit Shah traditionally visits his hometown during every Navratri to offer prayers to his kuldevi along with his family.
He is scheduled to return to Ahmedabad after 6 pm today. On Sunday, he will remain in Ahmedabad before departing for Delhi at around 5:30 pm.
Upon his arrival in Ahmedabad last night, Shah visited the Bhidbhanjan Hanuman Temple at Subhash Chowk near Memnagar for darshan, before proceeding to his residence in Thaltej. DeshGujarat
