Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit his home state of Gujarat for two days between August 22 and 25. The indication comes following a meeting between Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and the Prime Minister in New Delhi on Saturday.
In anticipation of the possible visit during the third week of August, security agencies have alerted the local administration. It is learnt that the Intelligence Wing of the state has issued alerts to administrative and police officials in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad regarding potential VVIP movement. Officials have suggested that while the final schedule will be confirmed after clearance from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), preliminary inputs suggest the visit may occur between August 22 and 25.
It is noteworthy that Union Jal Shakti Minister and Gujarat BJP President C.R. Patil is scheduled to hold a meeting with party MLAs on Friday, August 9. Following this, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is expected to celebrate Raksha Bandhan over the weekend with his family and supporters in his Gandhinagar constituency.
