Rare Albino Indian Flapshell Turtle Spotted for First Time in Vadodara

Vadodara: In a rare sighting that has sparked interest among wildlife experts, an albino Indian flapshell turtle was spotted for the first time in Vadodara. The unique turtle, with its distinctive yellow coloration, was found today near a freshwater pond in the rural area of Chikhodra.
Local residents who noticed the unusual turtle promptly alerted the Social Forestry Department. Acting swiftly, the forest officials rescued the turtle and safely transported it to their conservation facility near Kamatibaug in Vadodara.
Confirming the incident, Range Forest Officer Karansingh Rajput stated, “We received a call from Chikhodra reporting an unusually colored turtle near the pond. Our team immediately reached the site and brought the turtle to our center. This albino flapshell turtle is considered extremely rare, and this may well be the first such case recorded in Gujarat.” DeshGujarat
