Gujarat Retains No. 1 Exporter Spot; Jamnagar Drives Over One-Third of State’s Shipments

Jamnagar: Gujarat has once again emerged as India’s leading exporting state in 2024–25, recording outbound shipments worth ₹9.83 lakh crore and contributing 26.6% to the nation’s total exports, despite a slight decline compared to the previous financial year.

Jamnagar played a pivotal role in this performance, contributing over one-third of Gujarat’s total exports. Driven primarily by its petroleum refinery exports, the district recorded outbound shipments worth ₹3.63 lakh crore, according to data released by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).

Gujarat maintained a substantial lead over other states, with its export value exceeding that of Maharashtra—the second-largest exporter—by nearly ₹4.3 lakh crore. Maharashtra recorded exports worth ₹5.57 lakh crore during the same period.

Following Maharashtra in the export rankings were Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, occupying the third to seventh positions, respectively.

The top five export commodities from Gujarat during FY 2024–25 were petroleum products, gems and jewellery, organic chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and engineering goods (machinery). DeshGujarat
