Ahmedabad RTO likely to begin operations in new building after August 15
August 05, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Subhash Bridge Regional Transport Office (RTO) is set to begin operations in its new building after August 15. Preparations are already underway, including the transfer of documents and other materials.
Currently, the Ahmedabad RTO has only one track for driving tests, resulting in long waiting times — often up to 20 minutes during peak hours. The new facility will feature two test tracks, which is expected to significantly ease congestion.
Approximately 250 to 300 applicants visit the RTO for driving tests daily. The new building will also offer improved seating arrangements for visitors, addressing a long-standing issue at the old facility, where people had to stand due to a lack of space in front of officer cabins.
In addition, the new RTO building will have adequate parking facilities for visitors. DeshGujarat
