Gandhinagar: If everything goes well, the football lovers of Gujarat will get a chance to meet the great footballer Lionel Messi, who apart from Ahmedabad in Gujarat will also go to Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi in India where he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Informed sources said that all the formalities including the booking of Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai have been completed but official confirmation is yet to be received from Messi.

The source said, “Everything has been decided and we are waiting for official confirmation from Messi. Soon we will get the information on his social media handle.”

According to the program, Messi will reach Kolkata on December 12 at 10 pm where he will stay for two days and one night. A ‘meet and greet’ program will be held in Kolkata on December 13 at 9 am, after which a 70-feet tall statue of him will be unveiled at Laketown Shribhoomi on VIP Road. After this he will go to Eden Guards where GOAT Cup and GOAT concert will be held from 12 noon to 1.30 pm. They will play soft touch and soft ball matches of seven players per team.

-On Dec. 12, Messi arrives in Kolkata at 10:00 PM.

-On Dec. 13, at 9:00 AM, he will unveil his 70-foot statue at Lake Town Sreebhumi on VIP Road. Then, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, he will play in the ‘Goat’ cup match at Eden Gardens with Ganguly, Baichung Bhutia, and Bollywood actor John Abraham.

-On the evening of Dec. 13, Messi will travel to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and participate in private events.

-On Dec. 14, Messi will travel to Mumbai and participate in a private event at 3:45 PM.

-Later, at 5:30 PM, he will join Dhoni, Kohli, and others at the Wankhede Stadium for the ‘Goat’ cup match.

-On Dec. 15, Messi will travel to Delhi and meet Prime Minister Modi. Then, at 2:15 PM, he will play in the ‘Goat’ cup match at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Previously, on August 31, 2011, Messi came to Kolkata and played in an exhibition match against the Venezuela team at Salt Lake Stadium. In that match, Messi’s team won 1-0.
