CNG costlier by ₹3.40 in Ahmedabad after fourth price hike by Adani in 2025

Ahmedabad: Adani has once again increased the price of CNG by Re. 1. This is the fourth price increase in 2025 and fifth hike since December last year. With a fresh hike the price of CNG in Ahmedabad is now Rs. 82.38. Due to the four price increases in 2025, CNG has become expensive by Rs. 3.40 in the city, when compared to December last year.
Adani CNG increased the price of CNG several times in 2023 and this led to anger among the thousands of rickshaw and taxi drivers. There were several representations made in the government regarding this. In the year 2024, Adani increased the price of CNG less often compared to 2023. The last hike of 2024 was imposed on 3rd December. The hiked rate then was Rs. 78.98.
In 2025, Adani first imposed CNG price hike of Rs. 1.50 in January making the rate at Rs. 80.48. On 3rd March, another hike of 50 paisa was imposed to take the new rate to Rs. 80.98. On 11th April another 40 paisa hike was imposed with new rate at Rs. 81.38. Now on 2nd August another hike of Rs. 1 is imposed, making CNG availability at new rate of Rs. 82.38.DeshGujarat
