IMD forecasts light rain across Gujarat till July 8; heavy rains unlikely

Ahmedabad: The heavy rainfall over the past few days has subsided, and according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), only light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at several places across Gujarat over the next seven days.
Meanwhile, the bulletin also stated that the monsoon trough currently extends from Bhatinda through Bareilly, Lucknow, Patna, Bankura, Digha, and east-southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal.
According to the seven-day forecast valid till August 9, 2025, rainfall is expected as follows:
North Gujarat: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely at a few places in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, and Mahisagar districts.
South Gujarat and Union Territories: Rain is likely at many places across Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and the Union Territories of Daman and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
Saurashtra: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places, including Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, and Diu.
Kutch: Rainfall is likely at isolated places.
The forecast pattern is expected to remain broadly similar each day from August 2 to August 9, with consistent light to moderate rainfall across many areas of South Gujarat and scattered showers elsewhere in the state. DeshGujarat
