Mehsana: Gujarat BJP General Secretary Rajni Patel today denied that he has supported the Vikas Panel in the upcoming by-elections for the director post of The Mehsana Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd., Mehsana.

A poster in the name of the former state home minister was circulating on social media, claiming he supported the Vikas Panel in the election. However, refuting this, Rajni Patel posted a video on his Facebook account clarifying his stand.

Patel said, “Recently, by-elections for the director post of The Mehsana Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd., Mehsana, are scheduled to be held. It has come to my attention that a message is going around on social media in my name. This message has not been sent by me. Whoever has done this should come forward and apologise, as I have not issued any such statement. In this election of the Urban Bank, neither I personally nor the Party is involved. I believe that the Urban Bank is our bank, and it has emerged as the second-largest bank in Gujarat — which is a matter of pride for us. Now, to make the bank number one, members should thoughtfully elect the most capable candidate among the three panels contesting the election.” DeshGujarat
