Over 1.36 lakh cusecs outflow from Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam; Storage of Gujarat dams on 1st August

Bharuch: The outflow of water released from the Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam increased to over 1.36 lakh cusecs as of 1st August morning at 5 pm in river bed of Narmada. Additional 4190 cusecs outflow was also recorded in the canal. Sardar Sarovar dam is over 80.48 percent full as of 5 pm on 1st August, with water storage at 7613 MCM against designed capacity of 9460 cusecs and water level at 132.75 m against full reservoir level of 138.68 m. Ten gates of Narmada dam continue to remain open at the size of two meters. The district administration of Vadodara has alerted 25 villages against venturing into low lying areas of and along the river bed. These villages are – Chandod, Karnali, Nanderiya, Ambali, Barkal, Diver, Malsar, Dariyapura, Maletha, Zanzad, Kanjetha, Shinor, Mandva, Surashamal, Pura, Alampura, Lilaipura, Nani Koral, Moti Koral, Juna Sayar, Sagrol, Oz, Somaj, Delwada and Arjanpura. They are located in Dabhoi, Shinor and Karjan talukas. In other notable figures, Ukai dam is 66.96 percent full. Ukai is State’s second largest dam.
