ACB Gujarat book two PM Awas Yojana staffers in bribe case
July 31, 2025
Bhuj: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has booked two individuals for allegedly accepting a ₹40,000 bribe related to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). The accused—Vishal Bharatbhai Joshi, a contractual Technical Assistant, and Darshan Vishnubhai Patel, a Gram Sevak—were both posted at the Taluka Panchayat office in Bhuj.
According to the ACB, the complainant had applied for housing assistance under PMAY (Gramin) for himself and his relatives. When he met Vishal Joshi, Joshi allegedly demanded ₹40,000 to process the technical approval and directed the complainant to meet Darshan Patel to hand over the bribe.
Unwilling to pay, the complainant approached the Bhuj ACB. During the planned trap on July 31, Joshi reportedly called the complainant and instructed him to deliver the money to Patel. Patel then accepted the ₹40,000 bribe on Joshi’s behalf and was caught red-handed.
Both officials have been booked on corruption charges. Notably, Joshi has not yet been apprehended and is currently absconding. DeshGujarat
