Your MLA creates a ruckus & you hold rally seeking his release: Mansukh Vasava hits out at Kejriwal
July 22, 2025
Dediyapada: The political temperature in Dediyapada has soared over the bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chaitar Vasava. In a show of support, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are scheduled to visit Dediyapada on July 24. Reacting sharply, BJP MP Mansukh Vasava launched scathing attacks on the AAP leadership.
“Kejriwal should respect the law. Your MLA created a ruckus, and now you’re coming here to hold a rally demanding his release. Do you think the court will release him because of your rally? I say those who try to get such unruly individuals out should face double punishment, regardless of their party,” Mansukh Vasava remarked.
The BJP MP was clear in his stand that organising a tribal convention in Dediyapada won’t help Chaitar Vasava’s legal battle. “The case is being heard in court, and only the judiciary will decide. Kejriwal and Mann should respect legal proceedings,” he asserted.
Mansukh Vasava also alleged that Chaitar Vasava attacked Sanjaybhai, the BJP-backed Taluka Panchayat president, in the presence of officials. “A complaint was filed, leading to his arrest. They gather a crowd and commit such acts, but the law is equal for everyone. Even Indira Gandhi had to go to jail; this is democracy,” he said.
He criticised statements made by Chaitar Vasava’s supporters, claiming they threatened to use weapons if provoked. “Such statements are aimed at intimidating people. That is why the Sessions Court denied him bail, and the High Court too will go strictly by the law,” he added.
“No matter who it is—be it Chaitarbhai or me as an MP—once someone is accused in such a case, they must fight a legal battle. Kejriwal and Mann should understand this instead of misleading people here,” the BJP MP said.
He also dismissed the political impact of the planned rally. “This meeting by AAP won’t change anything. They may have managed to win a few MLAs by deceiving people, but what happened next? In the Lok Sabha elections, AAP was wiped out. Even in local body polls, BJP candidates have won decisively,” he pointed out.
The entire controversy dates back to July 5, when a heated argument broke out during a coordination meeting at the ATVT (Tribal Development Office) between AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava and BJP-backed Taluka Panchayat President Sanjay Vasava. The altercation escalated into a physical clash. Following a complaint by Sanjay Vasava, police arrested Chaitar Vasava. His arrest also triggered clashes between the police and his supporters, further complicating the matter. DeshGujarat
