40 students duped by Surat institution on promises of tech courses
July 18, 2025
Surat: Utran police have registered a case against the owners and administrators of Boston Institute of Analytics Global Education Pvt Ltd, accused of defrauding over 40 students of ₹52.27 lakh by promising professional courses in cyber security, ethical hacking, and data science, along with internships and on-the-job training.
According to the FIR, complainant Heersagar Chandera (25) came across the institute’s Instagram page in August 2024, which advertised various courses with fees ranging from ₹75,000 to ₹1.55 lakh. After visiting the Surat branch in Utran, franchise head Kevil Patel convinced him to enrol in a six-month master’s program for ₹1.55 lakh.
Chandera paid the full amount and began the course, but the branch shut down within two months. When he inquired about the promised internship, he was referred to officials at the Mumbai office — Ashwin Meshram, Sufia Khan, and Vijay Doifode — but received no help.
He later found that 39 other students faced the same issue. With no response from the Mumbai branch, they collectively filed a police complaint. DeshGujarat
