Ruckus between foreign students & villagers in Rajkot; students accused of indecent activities

Rajkot: Fresh allegations have surfaced against foreign students in Rajkot after a late-night ruckus in Ratanpar village, located on Morbi Road. According to local residents, a group of African students, including some female students, created a disturbance that led to a heated argument with villagers. Police rushed to the spot and have since begun an investigation, recording statements from both sides.

Villagers have accused these students of being involved in prostitution, claiming their activities are causing inconvenience and distress in the area. Ratanpar village houses several African students who study at Marwadi University and live in rented accommodation nearby. Residents also allege that these students are often seen in an intoxicated state.

One of the locals said that when students came and snatched his mobile phone, accusing him of watching their videos, they forcibly unlocked it but found nothing. He further alleged that one of the female students then assaulted him. The local resident stated that such incidents have become frequent, adding, “We are not sure whether these students are here to study or to do drugs and drink. They also call people from outside the village and engage in the sex trade.”

According to locals, around 100–200 students live in Ratanpar itself, and about 500 students reside in the surrounding areas, including nearby villages.

Similar incidents involving foreign students have been reported in Ratanpar in the past as well, sometimes leading to clashes between villagers and students. Police are currently probing the latest allegations to ascertain the facts. DeshGujarat
