Gujarat CM reviews projects worth ₹11,000 crore, including Dholera SIR, Ahmedabad & Surat Metro

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reviewed the progress of 12 multi-sector projects worth Rs. 11,735 crore as part of an initiative to track the advancement of high-priority projects driving the holistic development of the state, an official statement said.

The Chief Minister held the review meeting in the state capital, accompanied by Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, and senior secretaries of the concerned departments.

During the meeting, he reviewed the ongoing work on five projects aimed at the integrated and holistic development of Vadnagar, the historic city and birthplace of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi.

These five Vadnagar projects include: an Aqua Screen Projection and Musical Fountain at Sharmishtha Lake; development of a Public Center and Parivan Center near the railway station; beautification of the historic Saptarshi Aaro and Dai Lake; and the creation of a music museum as a tribute to the glorious musical heritage of Tana-Riri.

The Tourism Department also presented updates on projects for the holistic development of Ambaji; development works at Pavagadh Mahakali Mata Temple; creek development and mangrove restoration; development of Mokar Sagar in Porbandar as a global tourism destination; the Dwarka Corridor; Shivrajpur and Somnath beach development; and the development of Kantharpur Mahakali Vad and Dharoi Dam tourist destination, totaling approximately Rs. 4,184 crore.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of projects worth Rs. 7,551 crore under construction in Dholera SIR. These include infrastructure projects such as the International Airport, Expressway, and Dholera–Bhimnath Railway Line, along with social infrastructure projects like hospitals, schools, fire stations, and food courts.

In addition, the review covered plans for social amenities such as hotels, shopping malls, landscaping, gardens, tent cities, and residential facilities in Dholera, as well as the creation of mangroves and forest cover over 516 hectares of coastal land under the Green Wall initiative.

Considering that Dholera is emerging as a hub for the semiconductor sector, with renowned global semiconductor chip manufacturing companies setting up units there, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to prioritize the timely completion of these infrastructure projects.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects from Motera to Mahatma Mandir under Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase-2, undertaken by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited, as well as the construction of two corridors under the Surat Metro Rail Project.

The Chief Minister further suggested holding periodic meetings of the High-Level Committee headed by the Chief Secretary to coordinate among departments, monitor the progress of high-priority projects from inception to completion, and conduct regular reviews at the Chief Secretary level.

He also guided the senior secretaries of the respective departments to ensure continuous follow-up and coordination, especially for projects involving central agencies and ministries. DeshGujarat
