Seven Gujarat men held at Mumbai airport for using fake Schengen visas
July 14, 2025
Mumbai: The Sahar police on Friday arrested seven men from Gujarat after they were deported from Dubai and landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). The group had travelled to Dubai on tourist visas and was caught attempting to proceed to Luxembourg using fake Employment Schengen Visas.
According to officials, immigration officer Vishnu Sawant noticed irregularities during visa checks at CSMIA on Friday night. The seven men had been flagged and deported by Dubai authorities, prompting a closer inspection of their documents.
An investigation revealed that the Employment Visas for Luxembourg were forged. During questioning, the men admitted that their agent had assured them the visas would allow unrestricted work and travel across all 29 Schengen countries.
Following the discovery, immigration officers handed them over to the Sahar Police for further legal proceedings. DeshGujarat
