IMD forecasts return of heavy rain in some districts of Gujarat from July 12

Gandhinagar: The Meteorological Department, in its latest forecast, has predicted that heavy rains are likely to return to parts of Gujarat starting tomorrow, i.e., July 12.

While most regions are expected to receive light rain, areas such as Navsari and Valsad in South Gujarat, along with the Union Territory of Daman, may witness heavy rainfall on July 12.

On July 13, heavy rain is likely to lash isolated places in Aravalli, Dahod, Mahisagar, Navsari, Valsad, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.

On July 14 and 15, districts including Banaskantha, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur, and Narmada may experience heavy downpours. Additionally, Navsari and Valsad are expected to receive heavy rain on July 14.

On July 16 and 17, the only regions forecasted to receive heavy rain are Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli.

During this 7-day period until July 17, the rest of Gujarat is expected to receive only light rain in isolated places. This is due to a trough extending from the northeast Arabian Sea to the cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh and its surrounding areas, passing across the South Gujarat region, North Madhya Maharashtra, and South Madhya Pradesh at 5.8 km above mean sea level.
