Junagadh Police nabs notorious criminal Kala Devraj Rada in dramatic chase

Junagadh: After evading the police for the past two months while staying highly active on social media and posting videos targeting law enforcement, notorious criminal Kala Devraj Rada of Junagadh has finally been apprehended. In a dramatic early morning operation near Khedia, a police team led by Superintendent of Police Subodh Odedra captured the GujCTOC accused in true filmy style.

Following the arrest, the police conducted Rada’s medical check-up and later paraded him through his neighborhood. Just days earlier, authorities had demolished his properties, including an ₹8 crore farmhouse and a ₹28 lakh bungalow, as part of an intensified crackdown.

SP Subodh Odedra provided details of the operation, stating that on the night prior to the arrest, police received a tip-off that Kala Devraj Rada (45), a resident of Leerbai Para, was hiding in the Mendarada–Visavadar border area. His associate, Raju alias Ghodi Punja Rada (40), from Sanjaynagar, was reportedly set to pick him up early in the morning.

Acting swiftly, four separate police teams led by LCB PI J.J. Patel were deployed, and a well-coordinated plan was executed around 1 AM. Surveillance was mounted near the Khedia and Jamka crossroads, while two other teams covered additional escape routes.

At around 6:30 AM, Rada was spotted in a white Swift car (GJ-18-BP-0071) traveling from Badalpur towards Khedia via Jamka crossroad. The police set up a pursuit operation using two official vehicles and three unmarked cars. As the target vehicle approached, two vehicles blocked the route from the front, while the others followed behind.

Sensing the trap, Rada tried to reverse and rammed into the police vehicles in an attempt to escape. However, the trailing team quickly cordoned off the area and successfully captured both Kala Devraj Rada and his accomplice, Raju, alias Ghodi. DeshGujarat
