Shah in Anand hails Salt Cooperative Initiative of Kutch, predicts Rs. 1 lakh crore Turnover of Amul next year

Anand: Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah here today hailed the initiative of start of salt manufacturing cooperative in Gujarat. Shah was speaking at a function to mark 4 years of Ministry of Cooperation. He also inaugurated several initiatives of Amul.
Shah said – ‘only one thing was left in cooperatives and it was salt production and today Humbalbhai has completed that. Now salt manufacturing profit will go to Gujarat’s Agariyas (Salt farmers).’ Shah was so excited about this initiative that he asked Humbal to stand up on the stage and appealed for applause for salt cooperative initiative. Shah said in days to come, the initiative of Kutch District Cooperative Salt Federation will ensure that each laborer producing salt benefits from a strong cooperative movement like Amul.
Shah inaugurated expansions of Mogar chocolate plant and Khatraj cheese plant and also launched a new initiative by Amul called Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation.
Shah said as many as 36 lakh women in Gujarat and 20 lakh women outside Gujarat across the country daily do hard work and thanks to that Amul has Rs. 80,000 crore turnover at present but next year Amul’s balance sheet will record Rs. 1 lakh crore turnover, profit of which will go to the bank accounts of 56 lakh women.
