June 25, 2025
Gandhinagar: General and by-elections for 3,895 gram panchayats in Gujarat were held on June 22, 2025. The counting of votes for the general, midterm, bifurcation, and by-elections began at 9:00 am on June 25, 2025.
According to the State Election Commission, a total of 239 counting centres and 1,080 counting halls have been set up. The counting process involves 2,771 counting tables, 13,444 counting staff members, 14,231 police personnel for security, and 3,431 Class-IV staff deployed across the venues.
Notably, due to issues such as errors in the printing of election symbols on ballot papers, ballot papers being taken away from the presiding officer by groups, and confusion in the voting process among voters, repolling was conducted in three booths on June 24, 2025, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. These booths recorded an average voter turnout of 71.5%. DeshGujarat
