Photos of rainwater leaking from Rajkot airport’s new terminal stir row

Rajkot: The Rajkot International Airport located in Hirasar has once again come under scrutiny, this time due to water leaking from the roof of its newly built terminal.
Photos showing rainwater dripping inside the terminal have gone viral on social media, with reports stating that passengers’ luggage was soaked as water fell directly onto the arrival conveyor belt. Built at a cost of ₹326 crore, the terminal has already faced multiple controversies since its inauguration in February of this year.
Despite being touted as a modern infrastructure model, international flight operations are yet to begin from the airport. This latest incident has raised fresh concerns about the quality of construction and overall preparedness of the facility.
Notably, this is not the first time the airport has come under fire for operational shortcomings. Earlier, nearly 80 CCTV cameras were found to be non-functional for two consecutive days, reportedly due to technical reasons. The issue was brought to the attention of the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation. DeshGujarat
