IMD forecasts heavy rain in these parts of Gujarat till June 26th | Weather | હવામાન | मौसम

Gandhinagar: Rainfall activity in Gujarat subsided on Friday, with only four talukas receiving over an inch of rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its forecast, stated that over the next two days, only a few districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall, with monsoon activity expected to intensify from June 22.

As per the IMD bulletin, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Navsari, Tapi, Dang, and Valsad are likely to receive heavy rainfall till Saturday morning. Additionally, Kutch and Patan may also witness heavy rain on June 21.

Meanwhile, the rest of the state is likely to receive only light to moderate rainfall.

On June 22, an orange alert has been issued for very heavy rainfall in Banaskantha and Sabarkantha in North Gujarat, along with Navsari and Valsad in South Gujarat.

Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for the possibility of heavy rain in Kutch, Jamnagar, Morbi, Patan, Surendranagar, Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Tapi, and Dang.

On June 23, orange alerts are in place for Amreli, Bhavnagar, Navsari, Valsad, Mehsana, and Sabarkantha. Meanwhile, yellow alerts have been issued for Banaskantha, Patan, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Dang, Tapi, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Gir Somnath, and Botad.

Similarly, on June 24, all districts except Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Morbi, Porbandar, Narmada, Chhota Udepur, and Dahod are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

On June 25, only three districts — Devbhoomi Dwarka, Navsari, and Valsad — are under orange alert.

By June 26, rainfall is expected to subside again, with only Kutch, Navsari, and Valsad forecast to receive showers, according to the IMD.

Meanwhile, there is no active weather system currently, except for a trough extending from northwest Uttar Pradesh to the north Gujarat region across the cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan and its neighbourhood at 3.1 km above mean sea level. DeshGujarat
