Ahmedabad: An unarmed police constable from Chiloda Police Station, Gandhinagar, was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹1,10,000 by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today. The accused, Yuvrajsinh Shankarsinh Naruka (Badge No. 151), was apprehended opposite Chiloda Police Station, on the service road leading towards Gandhinagar.
The incident came to light after a vigilant citizen filed a complaint with the ACB. According to the complaint, the complainant’s husband was implicated in a prohibition case registered at Chiloda Police Station. On June 2, 2025, police personnel from the Chiloda Police Station’s surveillance staff visited the complainant’s home to apprehend her husband, informing her that he was wanted and instructing her to bring him to the police station.
The complainant, accompanied by a lawyer friend, visited Chiloda Police Station to inquire about the prohibition case. They met with Head Constable Vishnubhai Rabari, the investigating officer, and discussed the alleged false implication of her husband. They requested that the complainant not be harassed unnecessarily. Head Constable Rabari then directed them to meet with the accused, Yuvrajsinh.
Upon meeting Police Constable Yuvrajsinh, he initially demanded a bribe of ₹3,00,000 to remove the complainant’s husband’s name from the prohibition case. After negotiations, the bribe amount was settled at ₹1,10,000.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant contacted the ACB and lodged a formal complaint. Acting swiftly, the ACB organized a trap operation today, June 9, 2025.
