GSRTC Installs Automatic Vehicle Washing Machines Across 33 Depots: Gujarat Govt

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) today announced that it has made ‘Automatic Vehicle Washing Machines’ operational at 33 depots across the state to ensure thorough cleaning of buses, both inside and out. All types of buses—including sleeper, express, Volvo, and mini buses—are being cleaned using these machines.
To maintain cleanliness standards for ST buses operating day and night, GSRTC has installed these machines in depots located at Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Sanand, Anand, Kapadvanj, Nadiad, Borsad, Dakor, Khambhat, Rajkot, Gondal, Wankaner, Morbi, Tharad, Deesa, Siddhpur, Radhanpur, Deodar, Mehsana, Patan, Kadi, Unjha, Vadnagar, Kalol, Dwarka, Bhuj, Mandvi, Anjar, Nakhatrana, Bhavnagar, Palitana, Mahuva, and Botad.
Additionally, seven new machines will soon be commissioned at depots in Khambhaliya, Valsad, Himmatnagar, Godhra, Vadodara (Panigate), Dahod, and Ughna.
Looking ahead, GSRTC plans to install automatic vehicle washing machines at a total of 40 more depots including those in Amreli, Bagasara, Kodinar, Savarkundla, Una, Dabhoi, Chhota Udepur, Padra, Bodeli, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Jambusar, Rajpipla, Baria, Halol, Lunawada, Santrampur, Jhalod, Bayad, Bhiloda, Idar, Khedbrahma, Mansa, Modasa, Jetpur, Junagadh, Keshod, Mangrol, Porbandar, Veraval, Bijapur, Balasinor, Bardoli, Mandvi (Surat), Songadh, Surat (City), Bilimora, Dharampur, Navsari, and Vapi.
It is worth noting that GSRTC has consistently prioritized passenger comfort and cleanliness. As part of this commitment, the corporation has procured 80 ‘Automatic Vehicle Washing Machines’ at a cost of ₹11.80 crore, with each unit priced at over ₹14 lakh. These machines are being progressively installed at depots across Gujarat.
Each machine is capable of cleaning the front, both sides, and the rear of a bus in just 5 to 7 minutes, allowing passengers to enjoy a cleaner and more hygienic travel experience. DeshGujarat
