Ahmedabad Metro earned over ₹2 crore with 15 lakh-plus commuting during 9 IPL matches

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Metro has witnessed steady growth in the number of commuters since its inception. This growth escalated further during the 9 IPL matches held in the city at the Narendra Modi Stadium, as a large number of spectators opted to travel by metro on match days to avoid traffic jams and parking issues.

According to the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC), over 15 lakh people traveled on the Ahmedabad Metro during these 9 IPL matches. Not only that, the metro operator earned more than ₹2 crore in just these 9 days. The final match day on June 3rd, alone saw 2.13 lakh riders, generating ₹32.12 lakh in revenue.
