Bullet Train Project: NHSRCL Shares Key Construction Update About Vapi Station

Vapi: The under-construction Vapi station on the 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor has reached a significant milestone with the completion of rail and platform-level slab casting, along with structural steel erection for the station, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) announced today.

The NHSRCL, in an official statement, said, “Rail and platform level slab casting work, structural steel erection work for the station is completed. roof sheeting and electrical works are in progress. The station approach viaduct towards Ahmedabad is completed and is in progress towards Mumbai.”

The under-construction Vapi Bullet Train station is located in Dungra village at Vapi-Silvassa road. The concept for the design of façade and interiors of the station are representation of speed.

Total built-up area of the station is 28,917 sqm and height of the station is approx. 22 metres (from ground floor to top of truss).

Facilities like business class lounge, nursery, lifts, escalators etc. have been planned keeping in view the comfort of the passengers.

The station is strategically located with convenient access to key points in the city. It is approximately 7 km from the Vapi Railway Junction and about 7.5 km from the Vapi Bus Stop. Additionally, the station is just 5 km away from the Vapi GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation), making it well-connected to the industrial area.

Furthermore, NHSRCL also stated that 304 km of viaduct and 388 km of pier work have been completed for the overall project. Additionally, 14 river bridges, 7 steel bridges, and 5 PSC (pre-stressed concrete) bridges have been completed along the bullet train route.
