₹11,000 crore projects completed across 6 cities under Smart City Mission: Gujarat govt

Gandhinagar: As part of its designation of 2025 as the ‘Urban Development Year,’ the state government announced on Friday that over the past three years, 225 town planning (TP) schemes have been approved and 348 projects, valued at Rs 11,056 crore, have been completed across six cities in Gujarat under the Smart City Mission.

“Approximately 225 town planning schemes were sanctioned during this period, promoting urban growth throughout Gujarat. Key urban infrastructure such as roads, street lighting, and drinking water pipelines have been developed in all the cities,” said a government statement.

The Union Government’s Smart City Mission includes Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, and Dahod among the selected cities. In these locations, 354 projects worth Rs 11,451 crore were launched, with 348 projects worth Rs 11,056 crore completed, and six projects valued at Rs 395 crore nearing completion.
