Ahmedabad: A major fire broke out in a flat in Poorvi Tower, a residential building located near Subhash Chowk in the Gurukul area of the city. After receiving the fire report, more than 10 fire tenders reached the site and rescued around 20 people from the building.
As per the preliminary report, the fire broke out this morning due to the explosion of an AC compressor, which also caused two gas cylinders inside the apartment to explode, spreading the fire.
As the fire spread, several people reached the roof of the building to save their lives. Upon receiving the report, 15 fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot, along with senior fire department officials. The fire department rescued 8 people from the roof using a hydraulic platform and snorkel, while 12-15 people were rescued using stairs. Over 20 people have been rescued by the fire brigade team, and no fatalities have been reported.
Firefighters are actively spraying water to control and extinguish the fire. An investigation regarding the cause will be carried out after the fire is brought under control. DeshGujarat
