May 22, 2025
Ahmedabad: In great news for devotees planning to visit the Somnath Jyotirlinga in Prabhas Patan, the Indian Railways is expected to introduce a Vande Bharat Express train to the temple town. As per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his upcoming visit to his home state of Gujarat, is likely to flag off the new Ahmedabad–Somnath Vande Bharat Express on May 26.
According to reports, the train between the temple town of Somnath and Gujarat’s largest city, Ahmedabad, will follow the Rajkot route, stopping at only three stations en route. The train is likely to halt at Rajkot, Junagadh, and Veraval — which will significantly reduce the travel time. Currently, there is no direct train running between Ahmedabad and Somnath due to ongoing construction work at the Somnath railway station.
It is noteworthy that, as of now, no official announcement has been made regarding the train. The timetable and ticket fares are also yet to be made public. DeshGujarat
