GMRC extends Ahmedabad Metro timings for GT vs LSG IPL match on May 22

Ahmedabad: In view of the upcoming IPL 2025 cricket match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) scheduled on May 22 at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has announced an extension of metro train service timings in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
On match day, metro services will run beyond regular hours from 10:00 PM to 12:30 AM. During these extended hours, passengers will be allowed to travel only from Motera Stadium Metro Station and Sabarmati Metro Station to any operational station on the Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar Metro lines using a special paper ticket.
Extended Train Timings:
Ahmedabad Metro (East-West Corridor: Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam & North-South Corridor: APMC to Motera Stadium): 6:20 AM to 12:30 AM
Gandhinagar Metro (Motera Stadium to Sector-1 Metro Station):
• Trip 1: 11:40 PM
• Trip 2: 12:10 AM
During the daytime, trains will operate as per the regular schedule.
To facilitate smooth travel, GMRC has introduced a special paper ticket for return journeys on IPL match days, with the following features:

Flat fare of ₹50 per person.

Special paper tickets can be purchased in advance on match day at these stations to avoid long queues while returning: Nirant Cross Road, Apparel Park, Kalupur Metro Station, Old High Court, Thaltej, Motera Stadium, Sabarmati, Ranip, Vadaj, Jivraj Park, GNLU, Infocity, Sector-1.
Entry with Contactless Smart Tokens, Contactless Smart Card (GMRC Travel Card and NCMC card), QR digital tickets and QR paper tickets will also be available as usual on regular fare up to 22:00 hrs only. Any ticket (QR/TOKEN) purchased for return journey in advance from Kiosk, Token Vending Machine, Ticket Counters, Mobile App will not be valid after 22:00 hrs.
