Boycott Turkey movement reaches Navsari
May 17, 2025
Navsari: Showing his protest against Turkey, an international fruit trader operating at Navsari APMC discarded 13 man (approximately 500 kg) of Turkish apples into a garbage bin. The move comes as part of the nationwide protest and boycott of Turkey after it openly supported Pakistan during the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor.
The trader stated that Turkey’s supply of weapons and other assistance to Pakistan has sparked resentment among Indian citizens. In response, he chose to destroy the imported apples as a mark of protest. Traders in the region have now decided to boycott Turkish apples altogether. The boycott of Turkey has also extended to the tourism sector, with several Indian tourists reportedly cancelling their travel bookings to Turkey. Several travel agencies based in Gujarat have also cancelled their tour packages to Turkey and Azerbaijan after these countries supported Pakistan in its attack against India.
Traders have described the act as a voluntary step taken in the interest of national sentiment. DeshGujarat
