One more airline likely to shift domestic flights to Terminal 2 of Ahmedabad Airport
April 25, 2025
Ahmedabad: Akasa Air is likely to shift its operations from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in the city by the end of the current financial year’s first quarter.
The move is aimed at streamlining operations and improving passenger management, as Terminal 2 is being expanded into an integrated facility for both domestic and international flights.
At present, carriers like Star Air, Alliance Air, and SpiceJet operate domestic flights from Terminal 2. Relocating Akasa Air to T2 is expected to ease congestion at the domestic terminal while optimising the use of the international terminal’s infrastructure, which remains largely underutilised during daytime hours.
However, an official announcement regarding the shift is yet to be made by the airline or the airport management. DeshGujarat
