Gandhinagar: A 37.08 km stretch of National Highway 848, which connects Pardi to Kaprada in South Gujarat, has been approved for upgradation to a four-lane road with a divided carriageway and paved shoulders at a cost of ₹825.72 crore.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari made the announcement in a social media post, stating, “Upgradation of the 37.08 km section from Pardi (NH-48) Junction–Sukesh–Nana Pondha–Kaparada to a four-lane road with a divided carriageway and paved shoulders on NH-848 in Gujarat has been approved at a cost of ₹825.72 crore.”
NH-848 connects Pardi near Valsad in Gujarat to Thane on NH-48 in Maharashtra via Nashik. Other stretches of NH-848 have already been developed as per National Highway standards.
The present project involves the development of the remaining stretch from Pardi to Kaprada into a four-lane road with paved shoulders. Widening this section will enhance connectivity by easing congestion on the heavily trafficked route. DeshGujarat
