Bansal Wire Industries to invest ₹600 crore in greenfield project at Sanand, Gujarat
April 10, 2025
Sanand: Bansal Wire Industries, a stainless steel wire manufacturer, has announced plans to invest ₹600 crore in a greenfield project that will include a 1.8 lakh-tonne induction-based steel plant and a 60,000-tonne facility for producing low-carbon and stainless steel wires in Gujarat.
The company has acquired a 42-acre site in Sanand, near Tata Nagar, at a cost of ₹80–90 crore, with the project slated for completion by September 2027.
This new investment follows a ₹550 crore expansion that recently doubled the company’s steel wire manufacturing capacity to 6 lakh tonnes across five facilities in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
The company has also inaugurated its most advanced and largest facility in Dadri, currently equipped to produce 3.6 lakh MTPA.
The investment is aimed at enhancing supply to high-growth sectors such as automotive, agriculture, power and transmission, construction, and general engineering. The upgraded plant also embraces sustainability, featuring solar energy, rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient machinery, an acid-free wire cleaning process, and an on-site Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
CEO and MD Pranav Bansal highlighted that the expansion underscores BWIL’s commitment to technological leadership and sustainable manufacturing. Part of the Bansal Group, established in 1938, BWIL is currently India’s largest stainless steel wire manufacturer and the second-largest overall steel wire producer by volume. DeshGujarat
