Bhuj: NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has commissioned a 90 MW unit under Phase-I of the Dayapar Wind Energy Project in Gujarat, as per a BSE filing. The unit, located in Bhuj, is part of the 150 MW segment under the broader 450 MW hybrid project. The new capacity will begin commercial operations from April 9, 2025. Earlier, a 50 MW unit from the same phase was commissioned on November 4, 2023.
The company, in an X post, said, “NTPC Group capacity crossed 80 GW upon successful commissioning of the second part capacity of 90 MW at Dayapar Wind Energy Project (Phase-I), Bhuj, Gujarat. This achievement marks a significant step towards a sustainable and energy-secure future for India.”
In a separate development, NGEL announced the formation of a new joint venture, NTPC-MAHAPREIT Green Energy, in partnership with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd (MAHAPREIT). The 74:26 JV will focus on developing and managing renewable energy parks — solar, wind, hybrid — with or without storage, targeting up to 10 GW capacity across Maharashtra and other Indian states.
