Ahmedabad court sentences man to 7 years in prison for cow slaughter

Ahmedabad: A local court in Ahmedabad on Monday sentenced one Imran Sharif Sheikh Moshin, also known as Bakra Farid Sheikh, to seven years in prison after convicting him of cow slaughter.

The Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi shared the information on social media, stating, “We stand firmly for cow protection! Salute to the holy cow! A historic decision by the Ahmedabad court. In Gujarat, we don’t just arrest cow killers; we fight until they are convicted! Imran Sharif Sheikh Moshin, aka Bakra Farid Sheikh, has been sentenced to seven years in prison!”

Speaking to the media, the MoS for Home said, “Gau Mata is the biggest center of our devotion. The Gujarat government, under the leadership of then-Chief Minister Narendra Modi, was the first to introduce a stringent law against cow slaughter. Gujarat is a state where crores of people have deep devotion toward Gau Mata, and it is our duty to protect her. The Bhupendra Patel government not only arrests cow slaughterers one by one but also ensures they receive strict punishment by consistently following up on cases, rather than just filing them and letting the accused get bail. This is the third such verdict in Gujarat in this month. Yesterday, an Ahmedabad court delivered a historic judgment, sentencing cow slaughterers to seven years in prison. I would like to congratulate the Gujarat government, the police department, and the legal department.” DeshGujarat
