Vadodara : The roads in Savli Municipality in Vadodara district witnessed darkness as the Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL) cut off the power connection due to unpaid bills. Out of the Rs. 3.43 crore unpaid bill, Rs. 83 lakh is for streetlights, Rs. 1.9 crore is pending in the waterworks department, and Rs. 69 lakh is due from the commercial department.
It has come to light that from 2019 to 2023, Savli Municipality has only paid Rs. 7.9 lakh in installments. MGVCL restored the power after assurances were given that the bill would be paid within a week. DeshGujarat
