CBI conducts raid at railway DRM office in Vadodara

Vadodara: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out a raid at the office of the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Vadodara Division of Western Railway on Tuesday. The raid was conducted in connection with an investigation into alleged irregularities in promotions and recruitment of employees in the Vadodara division.
It is learnt that over 50 CBI officers are involved in the investigation, which includes questioning four railway employees, including two officers. The CBI team has sealed the office of the Divisional Personnel Officer (DPO). Reportedly, searches were also conducted at the residences of the officers, where an intensive probe was carried out regarding their movable and immovable properties.
The CBI has informed Railway Board officials about the matter, prompting them to rush to Vadodara.
It is learnt that a hefty amount was being demanded for postings from candidates who secured railway jobs through recommendations. An employee had filed a complaint with evidence, following which the CBI initiated action after a preliminary investigation. DeshGujarat
