A police official told the media persons that an investigation will be launched to determine how these individuals entered the US illegally, and their transit through other countries and the agents involved who facilitated their travel.
The deportation follows the inauguration of the 47th US President, Donald Trump, on January 20. Reports suggest that around 41,000 Gujaratis entered America illegally, but only 5,340 of them have received asylum status under the ‘Asylum Act,’ leaving the rest to be deported back to India.
